2020-10-08 · The ASH guidelines define the treatment period of acute DVT/PE as “initial management” (first 5-21 days), “primary treatment” (first 3-6 months), and “secondary prevention” (beyond the first 3-6 months). The guidelines favor shorter courses of anticoagulation (3-6 months) for acute DVT/PE associated with a transient risk factor. ESVS Venous Thrombosis guidelines were released in December 2020. In order to present the highlights of these Guidelines, we are organising a two-hour webinar on February 23 rd: our chairs have prepared a fantastic programme and invited experts to discuss the main outcomes of the guidelines.
